Responsibilities In Capacity Of Executive Director Of The Executive Board Of The Health Ministers Council For Gcc: Council For Gcc:

I am responsible for supervising the activities of Executive Board (Technically, Administratively and Financially). I am also responsible for follow up the decisions and resolutions of the ministerial council and its execution to attain the goals and aims of the council. I represent the Executive Board in all dealings with the ministries as well as with other governmental and public institutions, National and International organizations as stated in the rules and regulations of the council.

I recommend plans and programmes of Joint GCC work and after approval of the council of ministers I supervise the execution, and follow up the work of the technical and consulting committees and supervising studies and researches approved from the council.

It falls under my duties to coordinate with international, regional and Arabian Organizations according to the rules and decisions of the council.

I prepare periodically yearly report of the work of the council and its achievements. I also suggests the plans of the Group Pharmaceutical and group purchase.

1. Project Name: Saudi National Family Health Survey.

Project Description

- National survey to determine demographic, socio-economic and morbidity patterns among Saudi families in a random sample of 10,000 Saudi households. The survey was conducted by 180 research team members in 46 teams. The fieldwork was concluded in December 1996 and the preliminary report at its final approval.

2. Project Name: Maternal Mortality in Saudi Arabia

Project Description:

- National survey to determine Maternal Mortality Rates in Saudi Arabia, including information on the determinants of mortality and circumstances of death. All MOH hospitals and health centres are included in the study, alongside with community survey. All regional supervisors, sector supervisors, health center senior medical officers and all hospital chief of staff will be part of the research team. This survey will be conducted in February - March 1998.
